- Listening :Creating an immersive language-learning environment to develop students’ sense of authentic English, and using various listening exercises to develop problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking in English.
- Speaking :Using content closely related to their interests, students will practice expressing themselves in English by having conversations with teachers and classmates, allowing them constant practice of the grammar points learned in class.
- Reading :A wide range of exclusively developed reading materials focused on improving students’ advanced reading skills, covering areas like skimming for main ideas, summarizing the thesis statement and guessing the meaning of unknown words based on context.
- Writing :Coverage of all practical writing styles (such as narration, description, exposition and argumentation) to inspire students to write in authentic English and to prepare them for advanced writing. Combined with original essay samples for reference, students can improve their writing skills rapidly.
- Vocabulary :Teaching students the points of functional language through dialogues in real-life context so as to help students communicate successfully in English outside of the classroom. The Trailblazers course also covers more than 2500 core and extended vocabulary items, and to help students commit these new words into their long-term memory, EF has developed an innovative app, Mentor, to accelerate students’ self-learning.
- Grammar :Teaching students the essential grammar points required for examinations, focusing on functional usage. Combing in-class teaching and after-class practice, students master how sentences are built and become proficient in the types of structures and word groups that make up sentences.

During the initial Course Consultation, online (adaptive reading, listening, vocabulary, grammar) and oral Placement Tests will be administered and the most suitable starting course level (out of the 8 levels) will be recommended, based on the child’s performance.
Prior to starting the course, individual learning goals will be established with parents, and a detailed personalized study plan that focuses on each child’s areas of improvement needed will be put in place.
Parents have full transparency of what has been taught in each class and they can monitor their child's homework completion, all in the EF Parent App.
There will be a test at the end of each unit (each level has 5 units) to gauge how much of the curriculum the child has mastered. Parents will be able to keep track of test results, see how each of their child’s 6 skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary) have been scored, and get remediation recommendations from the teacher via the EF Parent App.
At the end of each level, students will demonstrate their newly learned skills and language with a project that summarizes everything they've learned. Students will display their transferable skills through a presentation. During the achievement ceremony, students are awarded an end-of-level certificate that indicates their Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) level thus providing the approximate equivalent levels of Cambridge Exam, TOEFL and IELTS.
