Petrobras

Petrobras is one of the fifteen largest oil companies in the world. With operational activities or offices in 23 countries and more than 60% of all work-related activities require English knowledge, Petrobras requires that nearly all Petrobras employees ¨C from machine operators to geologists ¨C speak English. What's more, Petrobras¡¯ oil platform employees work on location for 14 days straight before returning home for 21 days, so it was decided that online training was the best solution. Volvo

Volvo has production centers all over the world and sells cars in more than 100 countries, so it was concerned with creating relevant language-training courses for their employees. EF Corporate Language Training worked with Volvo Cars to create learning targets for all students, Top managers with an immediate need are sent abroad to EF's Executive Institutes to participate in full immersion courses, or they receive 1-1 private in-company training at Volvo facilities. Specialists are given focused group training. In order to ensure that course material is relevant to all, groups are created by taking into account the need and level of the students. Online training is given to those who need a more flexible language learning program, such as those who travel often.

EF teaches "Volvo English," or classes specifically meet the exact training needs of Volvo employees. Employees often bring materials from their jobs into the classroom. Ericsson

In an effort to serve their increasingly global market, Ericsson Italy needed to pass a Corporate Certification which would enable their local support center in Italy to become a communications center for customers all over the world. So they needed to immediately improve the English of a specific segment of employees.EF worked with Ericsson to segment the students who needed language training and helped them set individual monthly targets. These study targets were included in the Performance objectives of both the employees and their managers. This ensured that training remained a priority and encouraged the manager to work with the employee in order to meet the training objectives. Managers can easily stay on top of the training progress with on-demand access to reports via EF¡¯s online reporting system.

The results of the online training were immediately visible. The first group of students exceeded their initial goal of each student completing 4 or more study units (approximately 32 hours of study) in less than 2 months. To date, over 700 Ericsson employees have been trained; the majority are on target with their studies and feel they have already improved their English level significantly. In addition, Ericsson in Italy passed the CorporateCertification enabling the local support function to become a global communications center.

Henkel

Henkel has about 55,000 employees worldwide and is among the most internationally aligned German-based companies in the global marketplace, so English was - and still is - an absolute necessity for employees of Henkel. The in-company solution was the most suitable solution for Henkel. When it came to using English, the employees¡¯ main difficulties included holding presentations, attending intensive seminars, and writing business letters. Reading, writing and verbal presentation skills required urgent improvement. EF CLT¡¯s tailor-made courses and flexible schedules met the employees¡¯ needs.

Henkel is working with EF CLT because of their professionalism and results, so it is now ready to take a new step in language training.
